“Hong Kong Design Annex” exhibition,
Description
The “Hong Kong Design Annex” exhibition, conceptualized by Lim + Lu, and organized by Designworks Foundation, aims to celebrate and showcase design visionaries of Hong Kong in the realm of furniture, lighting and product design. The exhibition provides a platform for these talented individuals to display their innovative works, highlighting their unique perspectives and creative prowess.
To create an immersive and captivating experience for visitors, Lim + Lu envisions a pavilion made from fresh bamboo. This pavilion will feature both above and below reflective surfaces, resulting in a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow. As visitors walk through the exhibition, they will immerse themselves in an enchanting “infinity bamboo forest.” The meandering path will lead visitors on a journey of discovery, unveiling the beautiful and thought-provoking design pieces hidden within.
The choice of bamboo as a primary material pays homage to Hong Kong’s signature bamboo scaffoldings. It reflects the exhibition’s commitment to sustainability, as bamboo is a renewable resource with a myriad of applications.
The “Hong Kong Design Annex” exhibition not only serves as a platform to promote Hong Kong designers but also provides visitors with a unique opportunity to engage with the vibrant design culture of Hong Kong. By combining the beauty of nature, innovative design, and a captivating environment, this exhibition seeks to inspire and captivate both design enthusiasts and the general public alike.
